The Hawaiian Macaroni Salad
Can you say “Aloha”? Well can’t we all. Even just that word can calm your mood and place you on a Hawaiian beach with a little tune, strummed from one of those little guitars over heard through the palm trees. Its very imaginable.
I’ve never been to Hawaii but I do know one thing, if its people, beaches and mountains are anything like the taste of a well made Hawaiian Macaroni Salad, I know I wont be disappointed. This salad is usually served along some white rice and pan Asian beef or pork and reveals a mix of slight tangy and sweet tastes.
If you have not tried this dish yet, put it on your top 3, or top 5, depending on how long your lists are, of salads to try out. Its a Food Student favorite!
Shrimp Macaroni Salad
I just had this realization. Shrimp is the bacon of the sea, just like tuna is the chicken of the sea. Shrimp can basically go with anything and as such it goes very well with macaroni salads.
Have you ever had a salad or pasta dish for that matter and just wished it was not so “blah”, so mundane, so comparable to your day job. Most of the time in situation like that we find ourselves in a state of total acceptance. But, it does not have to be like that.
We can decide today, no we should decide today that we will act and make those situations more enticing. I’m not sure about your day job though, but in the case of a plain macaroni salad, you can always add shrimp! You basically make your traditional macaroni salad and then add shrimp to it.
Remember it next time as one of the macaroni salads you should try!
